First let's take a look at what weight loss is and what we need to do to achieve it. Weight loss occurs when you burn more calories than you ingest. That being said we need to do two things: reduce the number of calories we put into our body and increase the number of calories we burn during the day. Sounds simple enough.

Reducing the number of calories that we consume is easier than it sounds; we don't have to starve ourselves just make smarter choices. One way to reduce the number of calories we consume is to cut out sugary sodas and fruity punches another is to read the labels when we go shopping to ensure that we are not buying high calorie fatty foods. You would be surprised how many calories you can cut from your diet by just doing those two simple things.

The next step is to increase the number of calories you burn either through structured exercise or by simple modifying your behavior. Structured exercise is things like dance or aerobics classes gym memberships or organized sports. Modifying your behavior means to walk or bike rather than drive or take the stairs instead of the elevator. By increasing the number of calories you burn you will lose weight faster.
